Come pick your own berries and vegetables at our farm!
Why pick your own?
- Teach your children (and yourself!) where your food comes from
- Enjoy berries and vegetables at their very freshest
- Save money by harvesting your own produce
- It’s fun!
At different times of the season, we have the following available for you-pick. See our “What’s in season” page for approximate dates of availability, and call ahead to learn current picking conditions.
Berries
- Strawberries–note: we’re sorry to say that in 2011, we won’t have you-pick strawberries. We will have picked quarts available at the farm stand and at farmers markets though.
- Blueberries
- Raspberries–we have you-pick raspberries in our tunnel, which means whether it rains or snows or hails, the picking is always good. Call ahead for availability, but we expect berries from Mid-August through some time in October. Price is $5/lb.
Vegetables:
- Peas
- Beans
- Tomatoes
- Potatoes
Tips for a good you-pick experience:
- Call ahead to learn field conditions–berries especially are tender and ideal picking conditions can be short-lived in some years, due to weather.
- Dress for the weather–this may include sunscreen and a hat
- Join our email list to get notices when the crops are ready
Today we came and picked one handful beet greens, two heads lettuce, one hand kale. We saw no sign-in board to let you know. Can this be done on-line? Gerri Wiley and Wes Ernsberger, members, CSA
We aren’t techy enough to have an on-line debit system yet, but we’ll fix our at-the-farm sign in list today–thanks for letting us know!
